 Guidelines for Yoga Practice
 
Please bring a yoga mat to class.  A limited number of "loaner" mats are available.

If you have a meditation cushion or yoga blanket, please bring it with you.

Please advise the instructor of any injuries or health issues prior to class.

Sign-in on the attendance form prior to each class and leave your shoes neatly against the wall.

When you enter the main studio observe mouna, the yogic practice of silence and begin to mentally  align your body and mind for practice. 

Practice on an empty stomach.Never force your body into a posture.  Honor where you are. And remember there is no competition - not even with yourself.
 
Strain and pain are neither desirable or necessary for an effective yoga practice. 
 
Cease practice of an asana if discomfort is felt.
 
Refrain from wearing perfume or other scents to class.
 
Practice the modified postures whenever suitable for you, whether due to a health condition, your level of flexibility and strength or your energy level on a given day.
 
▸ Relax and enjoy your practice, observing yourself as a witness throughout class!
